Centering Pregnancy
Centering Pregnancy is group prenatal care bringing women (and their support person/people) of different ages, races, socioeconmonic backgrounds, & sometimes due dates out of exam rooms & into a comfortable group setting.
Group sessions last 1.5 - 2 hours and cover numerous topics including nutrition, common discomforts, stress management, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and infant care. During each session, you still have 1-on-1 time with Dr. Harris to discuss private issues.
Better health outcomes: nearly eliminates racial disparities in preterm birth
Benefits of Centering
—
Self-care: moms are more actively engaged in their own healthcare
—
Self-confidence: moms are better prepared for labor, delivery, and to care for their infant
—
More time with your provider: spend 10x more time with Dr. Harris than with traditional care
—
Support & friendship: group participants get support from each other and often become friends
—
Learning & fun: participate in interactive discussions about any and every concern a parent may have

What Former Participants Say About Centering
“As first time parents, the Centering program was a safe place to interact with couples. We gained not only knowledge, but genuine friendships. The program helped us develop as parents, and also kept us grounded as partners on our new journey.”
-Daija & Marcell
While we encourage all mom’s to participate in Centering, we understand life circumstances may not allow for this. We do provide individual prenatal care appointments while still focusing on education, great outcomes, and a positive experience.
